It’s nearly December, the Christmas lights have been turned on and excitement is starting to build. For some, the preparations are nearly over whilst others have yet to start. November 19th is world toilet day, designed to raise awareness of the 2.6 billion people worldwide who don’t have access to proper sanitation. The stark facts are that disease caused by poor sanitation and no toilets kills 1.8million people every year, more than from some better publicised causes such as malaria.

Unless you are Scrooge, you just can’t help loving Christmas. The shopping for gifts, the merry jingle of tills, the last minute rush; this Christmas particularly we all want to put the gloom of recession well and truly behind us and celebrate.

It is now the season to be jolly in Cardiff. With the cast of Doctor Who including the Time Lord himself, Matt Smith, switching on the Christmas lights on November 10th, Cardiff has officially joined the pre-Christmas party. There’s plenty to celebrate with the Cardiff Winter Wonderland, Ice Rink and Christmas Market all leading the way.
